Please take a moment to read this today.

Hi, this is Sarah’s boyfriend Adam. Sarah is losing her battle with Crohn’s disease. She has the most advanced case any of her doctors has ever seen. Treatment up until this point has proved to only lead to other serious health problems, and if we don’t make some drastic changes soon, her life is literally in danger. I beg any of you who would consider her a friend, now or ever, to please read this letter from her and respond to me directly. You can find me under “Adam Henry” in Sarah’s “friends list”. At this point, her life may very well depend on the support she gets from us.

From Sarah:
As many of you know, I have an extremely severe case of Crohn’s Disease. After seeing countless doctors, trying over 15 different medications, undergoing treatment from Mayo Clinic, regularly seeing a Naturopath and following strict diet and heath regimens, my condition has still gotten worse. Surgery is not an option, as they would have to remove too much of my intestines for me to live. If I can’t get help, I will have Diabetes within 6 months, among a laundry list of other things I don’t care to discuss. My naturopath has said she can no longer help me, and my Gastroenterologist says I have only 1 option for survival at this point: a self-injectable medicine called Cimzia.
I have a sub-par insurance plan, and Aetna informed me this morning that in order to receive my first dose, I will have to pay roughly $4000 out-of-pocket. This is about 10% of what the meds actually cost. I have already been turned down several times by banks for loans. I’m in desperate need of help, and was hoping to put together a benefit concert in the next 2 weeks.
Adam is helping me contact people today and collect info about availability, venues, etc. If you can think of any way you can help at all, whether it’s donating your time for a concert, helping print a flyer, spreading the word, finding a venue, or maybe your cousin works as loan officer and will take pity on me… please let me know ASAP. I’m running out of time.
